Vienna stays on the safe side. Despite Austria-wide relaxations, Vienna keeps a forward-looking eye on current Covid developments. To avoid mistakes from last year, Vienna is focusing on more security in public life.
To start your stay in Vienna as relaxed as possible, here is a summary of the most important COVID measures.
The “3G” rule (tested, vaccinated, recovered) applies to all guests of hotels, restaurants or cultural facilities. In concrete terms, this means that a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or confirmation of a previous corona infection must be presented on arrival, when entering restaurants and cultural facilities and when checking in at the hotel. Children up to the age of six are excluded. These documents must be issued in German or English and can be presented in printed form or on a cell phone.
Please note the validity period of the different proofs:
– Antigen test: 24 hours validity
– PCR test: 48 hours validity
– Vaccination: after 22 days from 1st sting (max 3 months), 2nd sting provides extended protection for another 6 months. Only valid for EMAS certified vaccines.
Mouth-to-nose protection must be worn in public areas such as commerce, public transportation, or museums
Furthermore, there is a registration obligation in gastronomy and hotel businesses. This can be done either via form or QR code. Here, the staff on site will always help you.
Vienna also offers its guests a variety of testing opportunities, some of which are free of charge, in pharmacies, test streets, test boxes or in private laboratories.
Testing near the hotel:
Ask our reception for more testing opportunities. We will be happy to help you register and make an appointment.
Even right here at the Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth, we are concerned about your health and the health of our employees and follow the official guidelines. For example, our rooms are cleaned according to the highest hygiene standards and disinfectant sprays are provided.
We wish you a pleasant and above all healthy stay with us!
